Imagine yourself nestled in the forest and surrounded by sandstone bluffs, enjoying the secluded luxury of a fully furnished timber frame home. Roughing it has never been so luxurious! Sleep accommodations for nine on comfortable antique beds surrounded by work from local artists (also available for purchase). The two spacious decks are retreats within themselves; equipped with gas grill, fire pit, and extensive seating, it is a haven for birdwatchers and spotting local wildlife.

Leatherwood House layout includes two floors with two bedrooms perched on the second floor, one with a queen size bed and the other with a trundle. The master suite is secluded from the rest of the living space on the first floor and looks out onto the deck. Sleeping space is also included in plush couches that pull out in the living room. Gleaming hardwood floors and ceramic tile complete the rustic quality while central air and heat are anything but backwoods. Two full bathrooms, one with a claw foot tub and the other, a nice sized shower, make for convenience during your stay. Our kitchen has all the dishes and cookware you will need with a gas range and oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and other small appliances.

Our Grounds

For your enjoyment, there is a room in an alcove off the living room with board games and puzzles. The living room has a DVD/VCR connected to the television with a library of movies for your viewing pleasure. Local phone service is available free of charge. A calling card is required for all calls outside the Jasper area.

Steel Creek and the elk inhabited town of Ponca are close by, where hiking, horse trails, fishing, and canoeing opportunities are limitless!. The nearby Ozark National Forest and Upper Buffalo Wilderness are natural wonders that make up Leatherwood’s backyard. Don’t forget the spring turkey hunting season, small mouth bass, and fall whitetail deer season. Last but not least, between Harrison and Jasper on Scenic Hwy 7, is Mystic Caverns which offers a breathtaking, beautiful tour for all ages.

Antique collectors will be more than satisfied at the non-stop shopping in Kingston, Harrison, and Eureka Springs. Jasper is filled with quaint boutiques where you can find the work of local artists or visit an open art studio. Quaint diners/restaurants complete your day with a meal out on the town.

Cost: $125 per night for two people and $20.00 per night for each additional person. Minimum two night occupancy is required on weekends, three night occupancy on holidays. Special rates are available for full weeks. Twenty-one day cancellation notice is necessary. Reservations secured with MasterCard, Visa, and personal checks.
